McLaren has provided insights into the design of its 2026 Formula 1 car, the MCL40. The reigning world champions revealed the new livery on Monday as they prepare to defend both the constructors’ and drivers’ titles earned in the previous season.<\/p>\n

From an aerodynamic standpoint, the MCL40 has abandoned the curved underfloor found on last season\u2019s car in favor of a flatter-bottom design, similar to the previous generation. The rear suspension evolves from last year’s setup, with a redesigned, lighter, and more compact gearbox providing added benefits. The rear wing resembles last year\u2019s design but now uses a two-pylon mount and works in harmony with the front wing\u2019s aerodynamic system.<\/p>\n
When asked about the toughest part of designing the MCL40, Marshall noted that coordinating the timing of decisions with last year\u2019s development, especially while competing for the championship, was the biggest challenge.
