This week, the third marquee event of the PGA Tour season concluded at Bay Hill Club & Lodge with the 2026 Arnold Palmer Invitational at King’s Ransom. The event, which welcomed 72 players to Arnie’s Place, awarded $20 million in prize money, of which $4 million was reserved for Akshay Bhatia, who topped the leaderboard.<\/p>\n
Batia won his first major tournament and his third on the PGA Tour, becoming only the eighth player in history to win his first three playoff tournaments.<\/p>\n
Unlike other major events, not all players at the Arnold Palmer Invitational were guaranteed a paycheck, as they were limited to being tied for the top 50 players after 36 holes (even those within 10 strokes of the leader). Rory McIlroy wasn’t among them.<\/span>withdrew on Saturday due to back spasms. (McIlroy is expected to be healthy enough to participate in The Players next week.)<\/p>\n Even after Bhatia’s payday, he continued his record winning 11 different signature events.
