AUGUSTA, Ga. — The 2026 Masters began with 91 players competing for the coveted title of Masters Champion and the green jacket that comes with it. Of those, 54 are within the cut line, and since there is no amateur play over the weekend, all remaining golfers in the field will be paid once play ends Sunday night.<\/p>\n
There is probably no tournament where being a past champion carries more weight, and while so much of modern golf is about big prizes and ultimate prizes, the Masters is one of the rare tournaments where that is truly a secondary motivation. <\/p>\n

The top four finishers on the final leaderboard will each win more than $1 million in prize money, and all 12 finishers will receive checks of at least $517,500.
