He is our captain and probably the most important player in our team. We need the best player in Romero to achieve our goals.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But O&#8217;Hara clearly doesn&#8217;t buy into that idea. The former midfielder recently suggested that Kevin Danso might be a better option for De Zerbi in the remaining six Premier League games, given that Romero, who paid \u00a342m for the Lilywhites, is simply unreliable.<\/p>\n<p>The former Spurs man said: <em>&#8220;Romero has been a pain in the ass this season. He really is, and I love Romero and I think he&#8217;s a really good player. If you put him in an Atletico Madrid team, you have a world-class centre-half. In the Tottenham team, he&#8217;s a thorn in his side. He&#8217;s a thorn in his side and I think Danso is actually a slightly safer bet right now.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"romero-facing-heavy-criticism-after-sunderland-defeat\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Romero_faced_harsh_criticism_after_Sunderland_defeat\"><\/span>\n                        <strong>Romero faced harsh criticism after Sunderland defeat <\/strong><br \/>\n               <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>With Tottenham&#8217;s 1-0 defeat at the Stadium of Light putting two points on the line, it is perhaps unsurprising that the club&#8217;s captain has come under fire from the media.<\/p>\n<p>Former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood warned 27-year-old De Zerbi could not be trusted following the defeat in the North East, while Simon Jordan hit out at the centre-back&#8217;s comments in the media.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Winter also criticized the number of yellow and red cards given to Argentina players, saying:<em> &#8220;He&#8217;s 27 years old, but he&#8217;s too often undisciplined. Romero, Romero, where are you, Romero? He&#8217;ll be in the stands. He&#8217;s been suspended for six games this season after being sent off twice (plus 12 yellows). That&#8217;s not a leader.
