The sixth anniversary event of the 2026 PGA Tour season brought players back to Charlotte for the annual Truist Championship at Quail Hollow. Seventy-two players competed for the $20 million prize, with Christopher Reitan taking home $3.6 million for his first PGA Tour win.<\/p>\n
Scottie Scheffler was absent from the field after finishing runner-up for the third year in a row, but most of the remaining PGA Tour’s best players traveled to North Carolina for final preparation before the PGA Championship. The past two Signature Event winners, Cameron Young of Cadillac Championship and Matt Fitzpatrick of RBC Heritage, were looking to double those winners’ checks. After winning his second Masters, Rory McIlroy took three weeks off and was looking to win on his favorite tour. <\/p>\n
But in the end, it was Reitan, who didn’t qualify for the national tournament earlier in the season, who made two clutch birdies on Sunday’s back nine to win by two strokes over Rickie Fowler and Nikolaj Hejgaard.<\/p>\n
