Sinner was eliminated earlier than the King of Clay, suffering a shocking second-round upset at the hands of Juan Manuel Cerundro, who had pre-fight odds of 32-1 to win and live odds of 100-1.

With Sinner’s early exit, Alexander Zverev filled the hole in the favorites and is currently +185 to win the men’s tournament at Roland Garros. 24-time major champion Novak Djokovic is next at +330, with Casper Ruud (+800) and Rafael Jodal (+850) rounding out the players under 10-1. Before the tournament, Zverev was the second-shortest player on the board at 12-1.

Sinner wasn’t the only one faltering in the first two rounds. Daniil Medvedev (50-1), Ben Shelton (100-1), Taylor Fritz (100-1) and Alexander Bublik (100-1) all left early. Five top-10 seeds were eliminated in the first two rounds of the French Open, the most since 2004.

There were also quite a few upsets on the women’s side early on. Most notably, Elena Rybakina, who had the third-highest winning odds at +650 and entered the tournament with decent support from the betting public, lost her second match, as did Jasmine Paolini (60-1). Jessica Pegula, a favorite among bettors at 50-1, lost her first match.

Iga Swiatek (+220) and Aryna Sabalenka (+240) remain favorites to win, but they have swapped the top spot several times. Popular plays Coco Gauff (+550), Amanda Anisimova (28-1), and Naomi Osaka (50-1) all saw their odds improve slightly.

for men and for women Odds from DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publication.

2026 French Open winning odds

Jannik Sinner entered the 2026 French Open as the clear favorite to win -300, but he has the second-lowest pre-tournament odds at a Grand Slam since at least 1990, and the shortest since Rafael Nadal (-400) at the 2009 French Open, who was upset in the fourth round.
