(Photo by Karl Lesseen\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-body\">\n<!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p><strong>It is already shaping up to be a summer of change for Liverpool, and not every big decision will involve new signings.<br \/><\/strong><br \/>Some of the most important call-ups are likely to come from within the current squad, especially with Andoni Iraola starting work as the club&#8217;s new head coach.<\/p>\n<p>The preseason could be a clean slate for a player who struggled for minutes last season.<\/p>\n<p>That is especially true of Harvey Elliott, whose future appears to be in a holding pattern until his position is clarified under a new manager.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are entering a new tactical era, with players who once looked on the verge of leaving the club suddenly potentially finding their way back into the team.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_fresh_start_could_change_Elliotts_transfer_situation\"><\/span>A fresh start could change Elliott&#8217;s transfer situation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>According to The Athletic, Elliott is one of several players expected to evaluate their options closer to the new season as it becomes clearer whether they are part of Iraola&#8217;s plans.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old will return to the AXA training center before making a final decision on his future at Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>The timing makes sense. Liverpool&#8217;s pre-season preparations have already begun.<\/p>\n<p>Iraola met with returning players at the AXA Training Center, including those who spent last season away from the club.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pre-season_could_decide_Elliotts_future_at_Liverpool\"><\/span>Pre-season could decide Elliott&#8217;s future at Liverpool<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Elliott&#8217;s situation is interesting. Because I don&#8217;t think this is a simple &#8220;stay or leave&#8221; decision.<\/p>\n<p>Elliott should take advantage of the preseason before making a decision.
