Liverpool has kicked off its summer transfer activities by announcing the signing of Jeremy Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed he would be joining Real Madrid to participate in the Club World Cup, Liverpool swiftly sought out his replacement.<\/p>\n

The Premier League champions activated Frimpong’s release clause of \u20ac35 million (\u00a329.5 million). The official paperwork is expected to be finalized when the transfer window opens on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Frimpong was pivotal in assisting Leverkusen in clinching their first Bundesliga title in the 2023-24 season, making 53 appearances in all competitions and finishing second in the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, the Dutch international has scored 19 goals in Europe’s top five leagues since the beginning of the 2023-24 season, leading all defenders.<\/p>\n

Frimpong joins former Dutch teammates Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch at Anfield, and he is also set to reunite with a former Leverkusen teammate in Liverpool.<\/p>\n
