Manchester City is looking to finalize a deal to acquire Lyon forward Ryan Cherki, according to sources cited by ESPN.

Following an impressive international debut for France against Spain, the 21-year-old is expected to join the Premier League club for around 40 million euros ($45.6 million), plus potential bonuses, and is set to sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

A medical examination has been scheduled for Tuesday, and there are hopes that he will be able to join Pep Guardiola’s squad in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.

This week, the City team is set to head to a training camp in Florida before facing Moroccan club Widad AC in Philadelphia on June 18th.

Although other English and German clubs showed interest in Cherki, Guardiola’s vision ultimately swayed the forward towards Manchester City, according to sources.

Additionally, Wolves have confirmed that Rayan Aït-Nouri has agreed to a transfer and has undergone medical checks over the weekend, with an announcement anticipated on Monday.

Milan’s Tijani Reijnders has also signed with City, costing around 55 million euros after receiving clearance to leave the Dutch camp for medical tests and contract signing.

Both Aït-Nouri and Reijnders are expected to join Guardiola’s squad for the Club World Cup.

Meanwhile, Manchester City has confirmed that third-choice goalkeeper Scott Carson has left the club following the end of his contract. The 39-year-old made just two appearances for City in a six-year tenure.
