  • Amorim is keen on Robert Lewandowski
  • Lewandowski’s transfer would be a gamble

Manchester United are rumored to be interested in signing Robert Lewandowski from Barcelona.

Fichajes reports that Ruben Amorim is interested in signing the experienced Poland international, but the Red Devils would like to sign a younger player with more potential. They are not ready to invest huge amounts of money in Barcelona’s star players. This is also a short-term signing, with Manchester United looking to build for the future.

Amorim is keen on Robert Lewandowski

The Portuguese manager feels Lewandowski can immediately transform Manchester United and help them compete at the highest level. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to convince the club’s leaders to make a move for Barcelona’s star.

At 37 years old, he is undoubtedly one of the best strikers of his generation. He has proven himself with several clubs and there is no doubt that he is good enough for the Premier League. He could be a great acquisition in the short term.

However, the player earns 32 million euros per season. That’s a huge amount of money for a player in the twilight stages of his career. There is no guarantee that he will be a huge success in the Premier League.

It’s a gamble and it’s no wonder Manchester United are skeptical of the move. They need more quality and depth in their attacking unit. They recently signed Benjamin Sesco and should look to sign another striker in the coming weeks.

Adding another goalscorer would be ideal for them and it could help them finish the season on a strong note. Sesco is still adjusting to English football. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
