The 2026 U.S. Open is just around the corner, and the major event will tee off on Thursday, June 18th at Sinek Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York. Rory McIlroy (Masters) and Aaron Rye (PGA Championship) are the first two major winners of the year, and both have qualified for the 2026 U.S. Open. JJ Spawn is the defending U.S. Open champion, and the last time the U.S. Open was held at Shinnecock Hills in 2018, Brooks Koepka won the event with a one-over shot.

Scottie Scheffler, looking to complete a career Grand Slam, is a +500 favorite for the 2026 U.S. Open according to FanDuel Sportsbook. McIlroy is looking to win his first US Open in 15 years at +1200, followed closely by Jon Rahm at +1300. Xander Schauffele is +1800, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Young are all +2000. Koepka (+3500), Spaun (+5500), and Rye (+6500) are long shots.

2026 US Open Predictions

One of the big surprises the model calls for the 2026 U.S. Open is that Rahm, the third favorite at +1300, stumbled and finished outside the top five. He’s a golfer who’s likely to disappear in the best bets at the U.S. Open. Rahm won the 2021 U.S. Open, but hasn’t finished better than T-7 at the tournament since then. He finished T-2 at last month’s PGA Championship, his first top-five finish at a major since 2023, and the model doesn’t like him as a favorite this week. See who else will be fading out here.

Another surprise is that Cameron Young is a top-five prospect on the predicted leaderboard despite never having won a major and having slightly longer odds at +2000. Young has two wins and six top-10 finishes this year, including a T-3 performance at the Masters. His strong driving metrics bode well for success at Sinek Hills, making him the golfer to back a U.S. Open championship and top-five bet in 2026. Find out who else to choose here.
