Tottenham have already completed a number of notable deals since the transfer window opened and are now eyeing a rising star from the EFL.

Andy Robertson was one of the first players to join after his move from Liverpool, with the Scotland captain quickly followed by former Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.

Tottenham then further strengthened their back with the signing of Brighton centre-half Jan Paul van Hecke for £52 million.

The Dutch international was reunited with Roberto De Zerbi, who previously worked for the Italian on the south coast, while goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also became the third free transfer of the summer.

The Portugal international had an impressive season despite the Hammers’ relegation, emerging as one of the hottest midfielders in English football.

Reports this week suggest that Tottenham are in positive talks for Fernandes, with Spurs understood to be aiming to beat Man United out of his contract.

The north London side are also rumored to be offering the midfielder an attractive financial package in a bid to persuade him to move beyond the capital.

Fernandes is not the only midfielder to attract attention.

Tottenham also maintain interest in Newcastle star Sandro Tonali after their £80m bid for the Italian was rejected.

According to reports, Spurs believe De Zerbi is looking to add more quality and experience to their midfield options and could make a move for Tonali.

Although the focus has been primarily on established stars, Tottenham continue to monitor some of the country’s brightest young talents.

The club’s recruitment team have spent a lot of time strengthening their academy routes in recent years, with Spurs now embroiled in a new battle involving one of English football’s most exciting teenage prospects.

Tottenham are “very keen” to sign Blackburn Rovers youngster Tyler Livesey, according to TEAMtalk journalist Graham Bailey.

The teenager has emerged as one of the standout players in the nation’s academy, with Livesey enjoying an excellent season across Blackburn’s academy.

The attacker reportedly contributed more than 100 goals in total last season, so this is a sensational return by any measure.

These figures have inevitably attracted attention from some of England’s biggest clubs, with Tottenham thought to be one of the teams showing the strongest interest.

But the Spurs aren’t the only ones in this race.

United are also said to have a strong interest in signing Blackburn, with Man City keeping a close eye on the teenager’s development as they continue their search for elite talent in their academy.

Liverpool are thought to be firmly in the mix as well.

Livesey’s performances are causing great excitement in the youth football world, with the Premier League’s big four currently among the favorites to sign him.

His goals and assists have established him as one of the most talked about academy players in the country.

Blackburn are aware of the growing interest in young players, with the Championship club having a strong reputation for producing talented young players, including £100m Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

Livesey’s reputation has only grown following his outstanding campaign.

Tottenham’s pursuit reflects the club’s determination to invest in both the present and the future, and while talks continue for established names such as Fernandes and Tonali, Spurs are also looking to secure some of the game’s top up-and-coming talent.
