England’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, strongly believes that Harry Kane deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year, calling the striker “the complete package.”

Last season, Kane regained possession 124 times for Bayern, with 34 of those in the final third. While he fell short of Yamal’s 176 recoveries (42 in the final third), he outperformed Mbappe, who had 65 recoveries (30 in the final third).
Kane also engaged in 222 duels, more than Mbappe’s 162 but less than Yamal’s 381, winning 20 out of 28 tackles.
Yamal won 32 of 58 for Barcelona, while Mbappe had a surprisingly low success rate, winning just 2 of 6 tackles across 44 matches for Madrid.
After England’s heartbreak in the World Cup semi-finals, where they lost 2-1 to Argentina despite an early goal from Anthony Gordon, analysts speculated whether Kane had played his last World Cup match.
As Kane approaches 37 years old, shortly after the 2030 tournament—co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco—Tuchel believes he still has a future in international competitions.
“There’s no concern,” Tuchel said regarding Kane’s longevity. “Age is just a number. What matters is the quality, and he still has lots to give.”
Following their game against Spain on Saturday, England will continue their Nations League journey away against Czechia next Tuesday, travel to Croatia, and then welcome Czechia back to Wembley for a quick rematch.
England has had a tough time against recent World Cup champion teams, winning only two of their last 13 encounters, with nine losses and two draws.
