Manchester United is preparing an offer from Paris Saint-Germain to sign Spanish international midfielder Fabian Lewis.
According to a report by Fichajes, they are preparing an offer of around 50 million euros (£43 million) to close the transaction. The 29-year-old is a key player in the club and the country, and has proven to be a great acquisition by Manchester United.
Man United needs midfield depth
He is 29 years old, but Manchester United was able to use his quality and leadership. Next season, you will need experience in the middle of the park, and Spanish International certainly fits your profile. He helps them get better control of the game, and his defensive power is a bonus.
Apart from that, he helps create opportunities for teammates. The midfielder built six goals last season and scored 11 assists. He is a complete midfielder for PSG and it will be interesting to see if the UEFA Champions League winner is ready to let him go.
Can Manchester United convince Fabian Lewis?
Manchester United finishes in the bottom half of the table last year, and will need to insert a team gap during the summer transfer period. They need to improve multiple areas of the pitch, and quality midfielders should be a priority for them.
It remains to be seen whether Spain International can be persuaded to join the club. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but they are not at their best in recent seasons. They have been through a period of reconstruction, and the 29-year-old midfielder may be skeptical of joining them.
He is at the peak of his career and he has won major trophies in PSG. Moving to a club without European football may not appeal to him.
