Glasgow Rangers is set to sign Russell Martin’s £3.9 million annual star in the coming days, according to a new Ibrox transfer report.

49ers sign Rothwell and Fernandez for Rangers in a permanent deal

The new owner 49ers company is busy bolstering its GERS teams before the Champions League qualifiers against the Panathinaikos later this month.

After the pre-contracted Lyall Cameron contract became official, Max Aaron was added to an in-season loan agreement from Bournemouth last week.

Now, the Rangers are moving to sign midfielder Joe Rothwell on a permanent contract from Bournemouth, whom he’s well known since his time at Southampton.

Shortly after Rothwell, defender Emmanuel Fernandez was announced as a Rangers player and signed a four-year deal with Peterborough United’s Ibrox. Speaking after signing, Fernandez admitted that he was “shocked” by Gers’ interest.

“I’m an honor. It’s a huge club with a great fanbase and I think I can kickstart my career and have a good journey here. When I heard about Rangers, I was shocked.

However, the 49ers and Rangers do not stop there. It also appears that another defender is set up to arrive soon.

Rangers are set to sign Connor Cody in the next few days

According to Rangers reviews, Leicester City defender Connor Cody is of course to become a Rangers player.

They say the move is “in progress and is expected to be confirmed in the coming days” as they are set to leave King Power Stadium following their relegation from the Premier League.

Coady, who won £3.9 million per season with the fox, is heavily linked to his move to Ibrox, and if he moves as expected, he will be his first centre-back UK.

After passing through the Liverpool academy, Cody played for Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Wolves, Everton and Leicester, earning 10 England caps at the age of 32.

The Rangers are watching a move to sign a striker who will become a replacement for Hamza Igamane’s dream.

Former manager Tony Pulis also gave his support for Kody’s pending move to Glasgow. “If he becomes the Rangers, he will see it as a great club with great support, that is to try and compete with the Celtic, as we know it.

If everything goes into planning, Coady should also be available to use Rangers’ Champions League qualifiers along with Fernandez. So it would be interesting to see Martin’s first select center back pairing be 25/26.
