ESPN anticipates that Hall of Famer Randy Moss will return to his full-time role on Sunday NFL Countdown for the 2025 season, according to a report from The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand. Moss stepped away from his duties last December after revealing he had surgery to remove cancer cells from his bile duct. At that time, he mentioned he still needed to undergo chemotherapy and radiation but expressed a strong desire to get back to work as soon as possible. Additionally, due to complications from his condition, the 48-year-old had a stent placed in his liver.

Moss, now in his 10th year with ESPN, made a comeback appearance during the network’s Super Bowl pre-game show in February. ESPN released a statement saying, “Randy’s Super Bowl Sunday return was an emotional boost for our team and the entire football community. Knowing he will be back full-time on Sunday NFL Countdown starting week one was a major highlight of the offseason.”

Earlier, Moss had addressed his health struggles by wearing sunglasses during an episode of NFL Countdown. Recently, Moss presented Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow with the Comeback Player of the Year award at the 2025 NFL Honors event. At the ceremony, Moss wore a hoodie and hat designed by him after his cancer diagnosis, with proceeds from their sales donated to cancer research.

Fan Take: Randy Moss’s return to full-time broadcasting is a powerful symbol of resilience and hope, resonating deeply with NFL fans and players alike. His presence on the show will undoubtedly inspire and elevate the football community, reminding everyone of the strength it takes to overcome adversity both on and off the field.
