Everton reportedly took part in the race to sign the championship star, hoping to bring their transfer window into life to follow up on Tierno Barry’s pending arrival.

Who Everton is targeting Barry

It’s reportedly not long before Barry is able to move to more incoming calls, on the way to complete a move worth around £30 million from Villarreal. Who are those targets is a big question. As things stood, names like James McAtee and Takefusa Kubo were the most interesting, and Toffee still managed to land two more offensive reinforcements.

Toffee is in the reinforcement market.

Makatee stands out especially well. Manchester City alumni must leave Etihad in search of consistent game time and enter a new era with Everton at Hildickinson Stadium.

He was forced to play an annoying role last season, but McAtee was impressed every time he was given the opportunity to thrive under Pep Guardiola. So, the Spaniard had nothing but to say about the 22-year-old after winning a hat-trick against Salford City in the FA Cup.

“I’m very pleased with him. He’s a special player. Hat tricks aren’t easy. He has an incredible feeling before the goal. He has the right tempo.

But even after that praise, McAtee’s future appears to be destined to leave its citizens. Of course, when City last sold a young player like McAtee, Chelsea got an incredible player with Cole Palmer.

It remains to be seen whether Everton will be able to repeat Chelsea’s McAtee genius, but midfield reinforcements appear to be Toffee’s priorities with or without Man City gems this summer.

Everton will be taking part in the Hayden Hackney race

According to Sky Sports, Everton is now in a race this summer signing Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough this summer after making his first inquiry about his availability.

Having entered the busy race and signed the £25 million midfielder, Toffee is able to ultimately pass Hackney on a decently earned path to the Premier League, and land an impressive alternative to the dead Abdul Laidukoh.

To say Hackney is ready for the Premier League is an understatement. Even if Boro couldn’t secure a spot in the playoffs last season, he dominated the championship in the middle of the park in ownership, and recently England U21 helped win the European Championship.

It’s no surprise that former manager Michael Carrick praised his Star Man so much. “I don’t praise Hayden Hackney for winning the Young Player of the Year Award.

“He is a talented young man and, more importantly, he is very humbled and falls on earth. He is willing to listen and is a very fast learner, so anything he tells him he’s on him right away.”
