Grigor Dimitrov appears to be in good health after an unfortunate exit from Wimbledon on Monday. On the way to upset world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the 16th round, Dimitrov, who rose 2-0 on the set, was forced to withdraw from the match with partial breast tears.

Four days after his injuries, the 34-year-old Bulgarian expressed his gratitude to social media and shared a snap of him enjoying a meal from his hospital bed.

“Sometimes the mind wants to continue… But the universe has another plan for us,” Dimitrov writes.

“I would like to thank the overwhelming wave of love, from my family, friends, fans, colleagues, to the whole tennis community… Your message has really lifted me up through these difficult times. Thank you. Really, recovery starts very quickly.

The painful exit derailed Dimitrov from achieving his first Grand Slam title. His injuries are expected to stand by for the next three tournaments, including the US Open in late August.

Dimitrov scored victory over Yoshihito Nosioca, Colentin Motet and Sebastian Ofner before leaving the tournament.

The criminal who will face Novak Djokovic in Friday’s semi-finals said after the match, “I won’t win this at all.”

“He’s an incredible player. We all saw this today,” Sinner said of Dimitrov. “The past few years have been such a bad luck. An incredible player, a good friend of mine. We understand each other very well. If he has the chance to play in the next round, he would deserve (it).

Dimitrov has won nine ATP single titles, and the latest one came in 2024 when he defeated Alejandra Tabilo in the Laver Cup.
