Dustin Poirier has shared his hopes for the final fight of his career, which will be a BMF title bout against Max Holloway at UFC 318 on July 19th. Known as “Diamond,” Poirier plans to retire following this match.

Poirier holds a 2-0 record against Holloway, having secured a submission win over the young fighter in February 2012 at UFC 143. He later faced Holloway again seven years afterward in a thrilling five-round interim lightweight title fight, which ended in a narrow decision.

White highlighted Poirier’s impressive career, noting that seven of the last eleven fighters Poirier faced were former world champions, and revealed that UFC 318 was designed to honor him, taking place in New Orleans as a tribute.
