Last week, Newcastle completed the signing of Anthony Elanga, but he may not be the only person to arrive from Nottingham Wood this summer.

It’s no secret that Newcastle is looking for a new sports director. Poe Mitchell decided to leave his role at the end of June just a year later. Many candidates have been finalized by St James Park club staff, including candidates from the city’s ground.

According to the Newcastle World, Newcastle is interested in Nottingham Forest Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson. The 41-year-old, formerly with the Rangers, directs excellent spells on the City Grounds. On this ground, we’ve seen Nuno Espirito Santo’s side go from relegated candidates to qualifying for the Europa League.

Jason Eight, formerly an assistant sports director at Arsenal, is also a candidate Newcastle is considering. He had tentatively established a major position after Edu’s departure and before Andrea Berta arrived.

Newcastle announced Monday that Jackloss, who was manager of Bitter rival Sunderland, has been promoted to a senior role in the club’s sports division. He previously held the position of head of strategic football partnerships, but this change is considered an indicator of the coming soon of a new sports director.

It’s an exciting time for people involved in Newcastle. Eddie Howe has a great team, and this is expected to be an important addition along with Elanga. And the prospects for the new sports director heading to St. James Park are another thing to note.
