Lexie Hull Steps Up to Take Kate Linklark’s Spot in the WNBA 3-Point Showdown

Indiana Fever’s Lexie Hull will take Kate Linklark’s place in the WNBA 3-point shooting contest at Gainbridge Field House on Friday night. Clark announced on Thursday that she cannot participate in this year’s WNBA Skills Competition and All-Star Game due to a groin injury sustained earlier this week.

Standing 6-foot-1, Hull is currently fourth in the league for 3-point shooting accuracy, making 62 shots at a rate of 46.8%. Last season, she had a 47.1% success rate, just 0.3% shy of the league leader. Hull will be the only non-All-Star competitor in the event alongside Sonia Citron (Washington Mystics), Alisha Gray (Atlanta Dream), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), and Kelsey Plum (LA Sparks). Notably, Gray and Ionescu, winners in 2025 and 2024 respectively, will also compete.

The Fever have not disclosed Clark’s injury severity or expected recovery time. Clark missed the game in New York on Wednesday and has already been sidelined this season due to a left groin injury and left quad strain, missing 10 of 23 regular-season games so far.

Fan Take: This update is significant for WNBA fans as it spotlights Lexie Hull’s rising talent and opportunity to shine on a big stage in Clark’s absence. It also underscores the physical challenges star players endure, adding a layer of anticipation for Clark’s return to top form and her impact on the league.
