Manchester City is evaluating the implications of Burnley’s James Trafford potentially signing with a new goalkeeper this summer, according to sources from ESPN.

There are rumors suggesting that Galatasaray is gearing up to make a bid for Brazilian international Aedason.

So far, the club hasn’t received any formal offers for Aedason, who still has a year left on his contract.

Despite Aedason’s recent commitment during the FIFA Club World Cup, this hasn’t deterred the club’s management from discussing the possibility of bringing back Trafford.

The club included a buyback option in Trafford’s contract when he was sent to Burnley in 2023. Newcastle is also monitoring the situation regarding the 22-year-old.

Stephen Ortega, Ederson’s research assistant, has not clarified plans for the upcoming season. The German, who is under contract for another year, is rumored to be in talks for a move to the Bundesliga.

In other news, City’s third-choice goalkeeper, Marcus Bettinelli, has signed a one-year deal with Chelsea ahead of the Club World Cup.

Moreover, sources confirm that Manchester City is not planning to pursue a bid for Newcastle’s right-back, Tino Livramento.

Pep Guardiola is open to adding a right-back to his squad following Kyle Walker’s departure to Burnley. Although City has previously looked at Livramento, they are now exploring alternative options.

Walker’s departure can be compensated by Lee Collis, Mateus Nunez, and Manuel Akanji, but the team is not currently looking to fill the right-back position.

City has made a significant mark in the transfer market, bringing in Rayan Ait Nouri, Tijani Rayjunders, Rayan Cherki, and Bettinelli before the Club World Cup.

The club is now focusing on offloading players who are viewed as surplus, including Jack Grealish and Calvin Phillips.

Fan Take: This news highlights Manchester City’s strategic approach to potential player acquisitions and exits, which is pivotal in navigating the intense competition in soccer today. For fans, these developments can influence team dynamics and overall performance, shaping the league’s landscape for the season ahead.
