The 2025 All-Star Weekend, hosted by the Indiana Fever, stood out as one of the WNBA’s most exciting recent events. The Stadbutz featured continuous live streaming, with dancing alongside Cathy Engelbert before thousands of fans. Sabrina Ionescu claimed her second title in the 3-point contest, and Natasha Cloud triumphed in the skills challenge. Team Collier secured the All-Star Game victory: Phee led in scoring, Skylar Diggins set a new assist record, and the first-ever All-Star triple-double was recorded, marking a historic moment. This unforgettable weekend wrapped up the WNBA’s first half of the season.

As we look ahead to the season’s second half, we present the fifth edition of the WinSIDR power rankings. These rankings, voted on regularly by WinSIDR teams during the season, showcase each team’s current records alongside their performance since the last update in the Power Rankings.

Here is the lineup:

13. Connecticut Sun (3-19) – Previously ranked 13
The Sun ended the first half with three losses but managed to defeat the Seattle Storm on July 9th, marking their first win since June 6th.

12. Chicago Sky (7-15) – Previously ranked 12
Chicago endured consecutive double-digit defeats near the break, including a 37-point loss to Atlanta Dream, but bounced back with a win over the Minnesota Lynx on July 12th. They face tough matchups against Minnesota and Seattle as they aim to finish strong.

11. Los Angeles Sparks (8-14) – Previously ranked 11
The Sparks are riding a modest two-game winning streak, with hopeful eyes on Cameron Brink’s return. Azura Stevens has shined, posting career-best averages of 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, along with strong shooting percentages.

10. Dallas Wings (6-17) – Previously ranked 10
The Wings closed the first half on a four-game skid. Despite the team’s struggles, Paige Bueckers stood out by averaging 20.3 points in July, with 45.3% shooting. However, the team’s overall outlook remains challenging.

9. Washington Mystics (11-11) – Previously ranked 9
The Mystics won three of their last four games, powered by All-Star Sonia Citron and others. The return of Rick to the Sparks, who suffered a 19-point defeat before the break, is crucial for playoff hopes. Shakira Austin has consistently scored in double digits, making a significant impact.

8. Las Vegas Aces (11-11) – Previously ranked 8
A’ja Wilson reminded everyone of her MVP form by scoring 71 points on 27/41 shooting before the break. Although not ideal, the Aces plan to integrate more players like Narissa Smith and Jewelroid as they prepare for key games against Atlanta and Minnesota.

7. Golden State Valkyries (10-12) – Previously ranked 7
The Valkyries suffered several narrow defeats, including a two-point loss to Las Vegas. Their upcoming schedule favors them as Atlanta is the only team with a winning record they will face until August 19th.

6. Indiana Fever (12-11) – Previously ranked 6
Kate Rinklark’s groin injury remains a concern, and the Fever are 8-5 with her but 4-6 without. They face a tough challenge against New York, who recently defeated them by 21 points without Rinklark.

5. Atlanta Dream (12-11) – Previously ranked 5
The Dream face the loss of All-Star Rhyne Howard to a knee injury for the rest of July. Coach Carl Smesco and key players will strive for consistency during a critical upcoming six-game road trip.

4. Seattle Storm (14-9) – Previously ranked 4
Seattle has beaten top teams like Minnesota and Phoenix but also lost unexpectedly to lower-ranked squads. With challenging games ahead, the Storm has a chance to establish themselves among the league’s elite.

3. Phoenix Mercury (15-7) – Previously ranked 3
Alyssa Thomas remains the team’s driving force, along with All-Star Satou Sabally, who is expected back soon. Despite multiple injuries, the Mercury have stayed resilient and are prepared for tests against Atlanta and New York.

2. New York Liberty (15-6) – Previously ranked 2
The Liberty have won four of their last five games, with MVP Jonquel Jones expected to return soon. The team, bolstered by recent signings, looks poised to make a strong push toward the playoffs.

1. Minnesota Lynx (20-4) – Previously ranked 1
Minnesota dominated the All-Star Weekend, with players like Courtney Williams and Natisha Heeder shining and Collier earning MVP honors. The Lynx continue to lead the league, and fans eagerly await their much-anticipated rematch with New York in July.

Fan Take: This power ranking update highlights the shifting dynamics and intense competition within the WNBA as teams prepare for the playoff push. The return of key players and emerging stars promises an electrifying second half, signaling exciting growth and broader visibility for the sport.
