The fifth round of the 2025 British Superbike Championship took place at Brand Hatch this weekend, with Tommy Bridewell determined to leave no stone unturned in his quest to enhance the performance of his Honda CBR1000RR-R. Bridewell recently participated in the UK World Superbike rounds at Knockhill and Brand Hatch, where he experienced crashes in both Race 1 and Race 2 but managed to finish 18th in the Superpole Race.

This weekend (July 25-27), the 2023 BSB champion is making a return to Brand Hatch, a circuit that has played a significant role in his recent title battles, especially following a podium finish in Race 1 at Knockhill. Bridewell expressed his excitement about competing in the World Superbike Championship Round at Donington Park rather than being sidelined and praised his teammate’s consistent pace throughout the event.

Looking ahead to Brand Hatch, Bridewell reflected on the great memories of winning the championship there in 2023 and acknowledged that this race could be one of the most memorable in British Superbike history. He noted that the circuit is a mix of challenges, with Honda making strong progress in some sections while struggling in others, making performance predictions difficult this year. He highlighted the tough conditions at Knockhill due to weather but reassured that the team is diligently searching for solutions to improve their bike’s competitiveness.

Andrew Irwin, who achieved two top-10 finishes at Knockhill, is also heading to Brand Hatch with optimism. The Northern Irish rider believes his recent solid results provide a strong foundation for the upcoming race weekend. Irwin noted some changes and new parts in store and looked forward to Brand Hatch, where he has enjoyed success in both superbikes and supersports, including several podium finishes alongside Bridewell last year.

Irwin expressed confidence in making progress and avoiding misfortunes in the latter half of the season, aiming to capitalize on opportunities from this weekend onwards. Both riders seem eager to push forward and strive for strong results at Brand Hatch in what promises to be an exciting chapter in the British Superbike Championship.

Fan Take: This update is thrilling for racing enthusiasts as it underscores the relentless drive and strategic efforts behind the scenes in British Superbikes. Bridewell and Irwin’s determination and recent performances highlight the intense competition and the potential for high drama, promising an exciting battle that could shape the championship’s future.
