The Rangers are interested in signing Crystal Palace attacker Jessrun Laksakkiy this summer.

However, Rangers manager Russell Martin is not sure if they will be able to get a deal on the entire line. The 22-year-old recently received a loan spell at Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United.

If they can get the deal done, there’s no doubt that he could be an interesting acquisition for Rangers. The Scottish outfit requires more depth with attacking units, and Rak-Sakyi is a solid long-term acquisition.

The 22-year-old must play regularly at this stage of his career, and Crystal Palace is unable to offer him the opportunity. Leaving the London Club might be ideal for him. For now he needs to focus on playing regularly and continuing to develop. The Ranger was able to provide him with the platform he needed now. It is still unclear whether they will be able to complete the deal.

Russell Martin is a long-term advocate for the 22-year-old attacker, who also wanted to take the player to Southampton. This time it will be interesting to see if Martin can succeed in his efforts to sign players.

“He’s the player I liked at Southampton. We tried to take him there and that didn’t happen at all,” Martin told the BBC.

“So I think he’s my favorite player and he’s a kind of recruiting staff member, but I’m not too sure how far it’s going.

“He’s a really good player. We look at all kinds of different profiles that we think can help our team. It doesn’t necessarily have to be one type of profile.”

Crystal Palace should make sure he moves ahead in search of regular play times. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to agree to the loan agreement. It could benefit all parties.

The 22-year-old could continue developing in regular football and may return to Crystal Palace next year as a better player. If he didn’t make a cut at the London Club, they could sell him for a reasonable amount.

Sitting on the bench of a Premier League club for the upcoming season is unlikely to benefit anyone.
