Rahaman Ali, the younger sibling of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, has died at the age of 82. The Muhammad Ali Centre confirmed his passing on Friday in Louisville, Kentucky, though the cause of death has not been disclosed. Rahaman followed in his older brother’s footsteps with a professional boxing career from 1964 to 1972, achieving a record of 14-3-1. After retiring, he remained close to Muhammad, often training alongside him. In 2014, Rahaman co-wrote a book with boxing writer H. Ron Blasia. Devone Holt, president and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Centre, emphasized Rahaman’s vital role in Muhammad’s life and career, calling him a steadfast source of support and an embodiment of brotherly loyalty.

Fan Take: Rahaman Ali’s passing marks the loss of an important figure who was integral in supporting one of boxing’s greatest icons. His story reminds fans of the family bonds behind the sport’s legends and highlights the human side of boxing that often goes unspoken.
