Daryl Dyke will not be present at the beginning of West Bromwich Albion’s season due to a thigh injury.

The club announced on Friday that Dyke has sustained the injury and is expected to return to training following the international break in early September.

He previously ruptured his right Achilles tendon while playing against Stoke on April 15, 2023, and made his comeback on January 7, 2024. Dyke suffered another setback with a torn left Achilles on February 10 against Ipswich.

He returned to action just days later on February 15, appearing for the first of his 10 substitute appearances against Millwall, and he ended the season with a start against Luton on May 3.

Dyke made the switch to West Brom from Orlando, a Major League Soccer team, in January 2022.

His debut season was cut short due to a hamstring injury in his first start with Peterborough on January 22, 2022, followed by a torn thigh muscle in the season opener against Stoke on July 30, 2022.

In total, Dyke has netted three goals in 10 appearances for the US national team.

Injuries like Dyke’s can have significant implications for soccer fans, as they affect not only player performance but also team dynamics. His absence could shape West Brom’s early season strategy and may raise concerns about the team’s depth and adaptability in a tough league.
