Paris 2024 Olympian Jamal Harvey has officially joined Jake Paul’s promotional company, Most Valuable Promotion (MVP), as confirmed by the organization to ESPN on Wednesday. At 22 years old, Harvey is considered one of the most talented American amateur boxers, boasting 10 US championships and a quarterfinal finish at the 2024 Olympics. He joins a rapidly expanding MVP roster that includes notable prospects such as Canadian Olympian Tam Tibear, Brazilian Olympian Keno Marley, and US national champions Nat “No Love” and Alex Guarce.

MVP co-founder Naxa Bidalian shared with ESPN that they see Harvey as a future star in boxing, both inside and outside the ring. Harvey had been on their radar since December 2023 due to his collaboration with Team USA Boxing and became their primary target post-Olympics once he chose to turn professional. Fighting out of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Harvey made his pro debut on August 22nd in a six-round super featherweight bout against Peru’s Marcelo del Aguilla at the Caribbean Royal Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Jake Paul remarked on the time spent training with Harvey and praised his complete skillset, predicting the young boxer could become a world champion and a major figure in MVP. Harvey made history in 2021 as the first American to win gold at the IBA World Boxing Championships since 2007 and finished his amateur career with a 61-8 record, according to BoxRec. Expressing enthusiasm about signing with MVP, Harvey believes the promotion is the ideal place to elevate athletes to their biggest platforms, crediting Paul and Bidalian for their game-changing approach.

Fan Take: Jamal Harvey’s move to MVP underscores a new era where young, elite boxing talent is gravitating towards innovative promotional companies that offer star-building opportunities. This development could significantly shake up the sport by accelerating the rise of fresh faces and intensifying competition at the pro level.
