  • Should Chelsea replace the injured Levi Colwill?
  • Are Chelsea spent on attacking and ignoring their defense?

Chelsea were hit hard by inflicting key central defender Levi Colwill on a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury.

With England International likely to be facing several months of action now, we cannot expect to showcase that much to Chelsea in the upcoming 2025/25 campaign.

Colwill is definitely overlooked as a Blues important player, but it appears that there are currently no plans to go to the market to replace him.

It posted to X about Chelsea’s satisfaction with current defensive options, according to Fabrizio Romano.

“Chelsea has not been energizing an immediate ’emergency plan’ to sign a new center after Levi Colwill’s injury,” Romano said.

“The club has full confidence in the current team and will also be able to play in CB/LB last week.”

Chelsea have a lot of depth in their team, but Colwill was definitely their best centre-back so it can definitely work out to consider moving another defender.

Wesley Fofana may also be really good in his time, but doubts remain in Trevo Charova, Tosin Adalabioyo and Benoit Badiasir, as he himself has a bad record of injuries.

According to a previous report from Ben Jacobs, the pigeons have played well in the centre defense before, but were mostly signed as the new left back…

It will be interesting to see how Chelsea can get closer to this, but there doesn’t seem to be any immediate plans to sign another signing at the back.

Are Chelsea spent on attacking and ignoring their defense?

Chelsea appears to be focusing on offense again this summer, already bringing in Joan Pedro, Jamie Gitens, Estevao Willian and Liam Dellup.

The CFC is pursuing a midfield addition that is attacking Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho even more.

This continues with Pedro Neto, Joan Felix and Jadon Sancho in the summer of last year.

But overall, it appears that there is a lot of money in the attacking players without investing at about the same level as their level of investment in defense. This seems to be a bit risky as the club still has some clear issues with its division.
