Atlético Madrid has officially signed forward Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli, as announced by the club on Monday.

The Italian international netted six goals in 26 Serie A appearances last season, contributing to Napoli’s title victory.

Raspadori has penned a five-year deal with Atlético and has already joined the first team this summer.

He will be joining new teammates Alex Baina, Johnny Cardoso, David Hanco, Thiago Armada, Matteo Laggeri, and Mark Publi at the Metropolitan Stadium for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Diego Simeone’s side won their most recent preseason match 2-0 at St. James Park on Saturday.

Raspadori began his professional career at Sassuolo before moving to Napoli in 2022. During his time there, he was part of the Italian squad that won two Serie A titles and the Euro 2020 championship.

Fan Take: This signing is significant for soccer fans since Raspadori brings valuable talent and experience to Atlético, especially considering his success in Serie A and international play. His arrival could boost the team’s performance and competitiveness in both domestic and European tournaments, making them a squad to watch in the upcoming season.
