Kylian Mbappé netted two goals as Real Madrid triumphed over WSG Swarovski Tirol with a score of 4-0 during their friendly match on Tuesday in Innsbruck, Austria, ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The match began with an early advantage for Madrid, as Eder Militão scored a header in the 10th minute, quickly followed by Mbappé just three minutes later.

Mbappé extended the lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute, taking advantage of a defensive lapse by Aurélien Tchouaméni, after which manager Xabi Alonso made seven substitutions.

– Kama Vingada’s injuries add to the midfield challenges for Madrid.

Rodrygo, one of the substitutes, connected with Mbappé to finalize the score in the 82nd minute.

Alonso incorporated three summer signings into the starting lineup, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, along with Dean Huysen and Álvaro Carreras.

Midfielder Alda Güler impressed throughout the match, striking the woodwork twice and assisting Mbappé’s opening goal.

Mbappé, who netted 43 goals in his debut season for Madrid, came close to a hat-trick after being set up by Güler in the 71st minute, but his effort was thwarted by the goalkeeper.

Nevertheless, the French star contributed to Rodrigo’s fourth goal with a perfectly timed return pass.

Madrid resumed training on August 4th after their participation in the US FIFA Club World Cup, and this friendly in Innsbruck is their only scheduled match during a two-week preseason leading up to their La Liga opener against Osasuna on August 19th.

Editorial Opinion: This match showcases not only Mbappé’s growing impact at Real Madrid but also highlights the team’s readiness for the upcoming season. For soccer fans, the emergence of new talents and the competitive spirit displayed in friendlies can set the tone for what to expect in La Liga, making the pre-season results essential indicators of future performances.
