Everton is interested in signing West Ham United midfielder Thomas Sousek before the transfer window closes.
The 30-year-old Czech Republic International has played under David Moe in the past, with the Scottish manager “loving” the player. According to football insiders, they turned down the offer for the players, but are now ready to go back with an improved offer.
Soucek has been linked to Leeds over the past few months.
Everton can use Thomas Soucek
They need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and Soucek could prove to be a very useful acquisition. The towering midfielder adds physicality and airborne skill to the sides. There’s no doubt he’s a quality player, and he showed it at West Ham. He was excellent for Moe during his time as a manager at West Ham, and the player is eager to reunite with the former boss.
Soucek may be an asset
He could become an asset to Everton. The player is at the peak of his career, but this could be an interesting opportunity for him to try new challenges. West Ham has passed a rough patch and may be fighting for survival this season. Meanwhile, Everton has done well to improve his team and may be a better platform now. Czech Republic International is a good choice to ensure a transition to the Merseyside Club.
It will be interesting to see if West Ham is ready to sanction his departure. The player is reportedly valued at £19 million. Everton certainly has the financial muscles to get deals across the line. The fees may seem expensive for players approaching the end of their contract in 2027, but Soucek has been able to justify their investment.
