  • West Ham hunting for a centre-back on the deadline
  • Why West Ham’s latest is better than Igor

West Ham United has endured the recent centre-back dilemma, and Graham Potter still doesn’t have a well-established partnership at the heart of his defense.

Max Kilman and Constantinos Mavopanos won 3-0 at Nottingham Forest at City Grounds on Sunday before maintaining their first clean sheets of the new Premier League season.

However, Nayef Aguerd appears to leave the hammer after refusing to travel with his team for a trip to East Midlands.

As a result, managers and hierarchies are tirelessly targeting other options in the market to seek to strengthen the depth of such sectors.

Many names have been mentioned throughout the deadline, with multiple players frequently mentioning the switch to London Stadium.

Today, Bragaster’s Bright Array-MBI was considered a viable option for West Ham.

But then the transaction went quiet. This makes the Hammer hierarchy pursue the movements of various other targets, primarily in the Premier League.

The latest name above is Chelsea’s Axel Disaster, and the Frenchman is not currently part of Enzo Maresca’s first team plan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reportedly taking a late approach to Potter’s side to the Blues and attempting to sign the 27-year-old, who was rented out at Aston Villa last season.

It is unclear whether the deal is permanent or temporary, but Hammer is making a final groove attempt to secure his signature before the window closes.

Why West Ham’s latest is better than Igor

Deadlines always cause one or two surprises. It was no different from this year’s installment payments.

The Brazilian centre-back has been allowed to leave by manager Fabian Hürzeller after dropping the pecking order in recent months at AMEX.

He seemed ready to complete the loan move to Crystal Palace, but Oliver Glasner’s side pulled the plug on the move.

The 27-year-old has reportedly completed a move to travel to East London to join the irons, but the hierarchy faces competition with time to complete the transfer.

However, despite the Brazilian movement, they were able to complete the disaster relocation at the end of the window – and also added the required depth to the backline.

Comparing each of the statistics from last season’s Premier League, the Chelsea guy outperformed him in key regions.

Called “incredible” by one content creator, Disassi was able to win more tackles and went on top in more air combat.

His defensive dominance over Igor is further highlighted in his tally on clearance and interceptions per 90.

In possession, the Frenchman was just as impressive, completing a more progressive carry around 90.

Both players can move to London Stadium, but it is clear that the disaster offers the extra quality that the side desperately coveted by a third of the defensive.

The signature could play a major role in the club’s future in the Premier League, and Potter’s side must desperately build on recent victory on the city’s ground.
