  • Leeds United are working on the departure of Iran Mesley
  • Meslier lost his place at the starting line

Leeds United’s summer transfer activities were marked not only by new signatures but also by important departures.

With the windows closed, the whites continued to make efforts behind the scenes, especially when it came to the departure of Fringe players.

Darko Gyabi, Sam Greenwood, Patrick Bamford, Joe Gelhardt and Isaac Schmidt all left Elland Road before the deadline.

However, the future of goalkeeper Iran Meslier is still uncertain as goalkeepers are not part of Leeds’ starting lineup and the club is trying to offload him.

Despite interest from Leicester City, Valencia and PSG, the French shooting remains in Leeds despite the options appearing to be conditioned for departures elsewhere.

Sources suggest that efforts are underway to find solutions before potential destinations emerge in Turkey, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Poland, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Leeds is still looking for a solution for goalkeepers.

“I definitely think there are still some options for Messlie. Türkiye? Absolutely, yes, they’re one of them.

“But I’m also said that the Leeds hierarchy and up above Red Bull use their connections and are looking for a destination for him. His people are working hard too.

“Austria, Belgium, Greece, Poland, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, etc. If he has an appetite, he still has options.”

The Transfer Window has already been closed in the UK, but Leeds is looking to offload Messlier to a country where the transfer period is still open.

It was revealed after last season that the goalkeeper had no future at Elland Road, and manager Daniel Fark decided to replace him after an error-prone season in the championship.

Meslier’s stock, once considered one of the UK’s best young goalkeepers, has declined in recent seasons, with goalkeepers not finding consistency.
