Saudi Arabian club pushed to sign Chelsea star, bid after deadline

Chelsea’s 2025 transfer ends with the end of the UK deadline, at least from an acceptance standpoint, but it’s a completely different story when it comes to potential exits.

The Saudi Arabia and Turkey transfer windows are still open for business. This means that certain players can leave Stamford Bridge again this week.

Chelsea has already raised £288 million, making a profit of £3 million despite spending £285 million this summer (BBC).

Raheem Sterling is the chief among the unwanted men of Enzo Maresca who failed to secure a move before the 1st September cutoff, and Blueco will be desperate to remove a wage of £325,000 a week on the nearest opportunity.

Despite some reports that Sterling is undergoing high consultations to leave Chelsea over the summer, the 30-year-old’s move never comes into play, and time runs out to move forward as he tries to wager a bill with Thomas Touchel’s 2026 World Cup team.

Like Chilwell, who is overloaded at around £200,000 a week and is considered a surplus by Maresca, it can’t help but wonder whether Chelsea will cut their losses and make a decision to close Sterling’s deal so they can leave as a free agent.

Another player who has firmly escaped Maresca’s plan and saw the transfer fail before September is defender Axel Disaji.

The French enjoyed a solid loan spell at Aston Villa in late 2024/2025, attracting summer interest from Villa, Wolves, Sunderland, Newcastle, Juventus and others, but none of them strengthened their interest.

According to the BBC, Disasi has refused to move to Bournemouth and West Ham, but with European options becoming thinner, a move to Saudi Arabia could be his best bet.

Neom SC bids for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi

According to a report by Chelsea News, SPL Side Neom SC is pushing to sign Disasi, making a cheeky £17 million offer to the 27-year-old.

Disasi prefers to stay on the continent, but his choice is to potentially embrace Neom’s progress or spend another four months sitting by Cobham.

“Neom signed Alexandre Lacazette, Maasin Burka and Nathan Zeze this summer. They are building their teams with strong French-speaking chemistry,” a source on the website said.

“Disasi fits his profile tactically and culturally, and the club sees him as a key figure in his long-term strategy.”

Chelsea seem to want nearly £25 million if they’re on a green light sale. And Disasi’s hesitation about switching to the Middle East means there is still some way to make this move.

Turkey is still an option for former Monaco men, but as things stood there were no suggestions of interest from that part of Europe.
