The US Open once again shattered the record for the biggest prize pool in tennis history. The 2025 edition of the tournament won a total of $90 million, up 20% from the $75 million pool at last year’s event.

The $90 million figure opens the US ahead of the prize pools for the other three Grand Slam events.

The top two players in the game met on the men’s final Sunday afternoon, with Carlos Alcaraz defeating Janik Thinner to win a $5 million prize. Thinner leaves New York for $2.5 million for his efforts. The victory expanded his career record against the sinner to 8-3, earning the bragging rights among both men he met in the third consecutive Grand Slam final. Alcaraz was the first to win at the French Open before Thinner got his revenge at Wimbledon.
