  • Liverpool screams at another late goal

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone admitted he regrets arguing with Liverpool fans after Virgil van Dyke’s late winner in the Champions League clash at Anfield.

The Reds have won a thrilling encounter this season with yet another late goal. When Van Dik went 3-2 in downtime, he went home during downtime.

However, this sparked a line between Simeone and Liverpool fans, and then Argentina spoke about how they were humiliated for all 90 minutes.

Simeone admitted that he and all his managers need to be able to withstand such behavior, but he wanted to emphasize that he is a human being.

As quoted by BBC Sport after the match, Simeone said it hopes that the fans involved will have consequences.

“We (managers) are in the position where we are the protagonists/standard bearers, so we can also fight the insults we receive throughout the game on behalf of our managers, just as we fight racism and humiliation in stadiums today,” he said.

“It’s not easy to be in the position we are in and get humiliated throughout the game. After the third goal, I saw it from afar. The third goal came in, I turned around, the insult continued, and I’m a person.”

He added: “My response is not valid, but do you know what it’s like to be humiliated for 90 minutes? I hope Liverpool can improve that aspect and identifying who has done it will have consequences.”

Liverpool screams at another late goal

Liverpool has a strange start to the season, with great results, but there are a few indications that they are carrying a bit.

The LFC needs a slow target to beat Bournemouth, Newcastle and Burnley, and they continue to acknowledge at an incredibly high rate.

This became clear again as they went up 2-0 early last night, but couldn’t hold onto it.

Thankfully, Van Dijk went back forward again with that stop time header, but can Arne Slot’s side stay this late?
