Wolverhampton Wanderers have linked Flamengo’s highly acclaimed and talented Wallace Jan, and reports in Brazil suggest that Premier League clubs can revisit interest in January.

The 20-year-old attacker has been on the wolf radar since his summer transfer period, and speculation about his future has resurfaced amid uncertainty over his role in Rio de Janeiro.

According to a request from Bolavip, Wallace Yan has a release clause for foreign clubs set at around 60 million euros (£51 million). However, given his situation at Flamengo, insiders believe that if negotiations are made, the deal could be hit at a lower number. Despite no formal bids being submitted, the wolves are understood to be closely monitoring developments to weigh and consider the reinforcements for 2025.

Wallace Jan needs time to play

The youngster recently made a mark at the FIFA Club World Cup. He made history by becoming the first alternative to scoring in consecutive games during the competition. He is one of South America’s brightest prospects, and it’s no surprise that the wolves are keen on him.

Wallace Yang’s playing time has fallen in recent weeks. Manager Filipe Lewis has primarily restricted involvement in the domestic cups, and Flamengo’s early exits in these tournaments have moved forward in a limited number of minutes. He has been featured for just four minutes in the club’s final five league fixtures, and is concerned about his development.

Can the wolf sign Wallace?

Flamengo remains keen to protect one of his best assets, especially after improving his contract earlier this year, but by reluctantly extending his deal beyond 2027, he will keep the door open for future moves overseas. For wolves, the January window can present another opportunity to test the Brazilian club’s resolve.

It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done. They want him to sign for a reasonable amount.
