  • Martin responds to the repulsion of Rangers fans
  • Ranger “Looks” Stephen Gerrard

Despite securing the first league victory of the last season, the Glasgow Rangers reportedly plan to consider certain candidates to replace Russell Martin.

Martin responds to the repulsion of Rangers fans

Travel Rangers fans chanted with Martin even after Max Aaron netted his final winner against Livingston. In their eyes, winning nothing changes. There’s still a lot of work to do before the Southampton manager brings his supporters back onside. Whether he gets the results or the time to do it is a big question.

“I feel really bad,” the head coach said. I just want to focus on the team, the people I work with, and the staff. If we win more games, it will make people happy. Other than that, I have no control over anything else. ” (Martin about fan backlash)

After a disastrous start, GERS has won two wins in the last three games and has the opportunity to secure back-to-back victory over SK Sturm Graz in the Europa League this Thursday.

The focus then returns straight to the Scottish premiership as Rangers plays the host of a struggling Falkirk in another must-see game.

For now, despite what fans are thinking, Martin believes he still has the faith of a player and told reporters after Sunday’s victory: “All I can say is… hibs and the first half of today is the best we’ve ever had. So it suggests to me that players are desperate to do it and improve. ”

However, there may be times when the 49ers don’t stop considering all of the options. So far, their first management appointments in Scotland have not been made accurately in the plan, and it is reported that those like Kevin Selwell are already being seen looking at candidates who can arrive to replace Martin.

Ranger “Looks” Stephen Gerrard

According to former scout Mick Brown, when pressure is put on Martin, the 49ers and rangers are set to “see” Stephen Gerrard. The former Liverpool midfielder endured an impressive spell as GERS boss from 2018 to 2021, and has now managed to make an incredible return to replace Martin.

Brown told the soccer insider: “Gerard always watches the Rangers. He knows the club well, he knows a lot of the staff and people in the place. When he was there, he was also very well known to the fans.

“He did a good job there and obviously won the league against them and then moved elsewhere that didn’t work.

“I think he’s exactly the type of manager they need, because he’s the guy that fans and players can get behind and who will move them forward.”

Of course, Gerrard is the last manager to win the Scottish premiership with the Rangers and the abdicated Celtic. So returns are not a bad idea for the 49ers. As for the 45-year-old himself, he certainly managed to redeem administratively after failing a spell that failed at Aston Villa and Al Ettifac.
