  • UEFA has rules for yellow cards

Newcastle United players Jorington and Dan Byrne are currently on the verge of halt.

Both players have collected reservations on each of the two opening fixtures of the UEFA Champions League this season, leaving one yellow card away from the ban on one match.

Newcastle duo facing ban

The pair began with a 4-0 away victory over the Sanggillowers of the Belgian Champions Union on Wednesday. This gave the Eddie Howe guys their first European victory since 2013. Harvey Burns got off the bench and added a fourth and put together a statement performance.

But the situation in Byrne and Jollington is now a major source of concern.

Jollington was warned in Brussels in the first half, and Dan Byrne received the yellow card in the second half of the 88th minute. Both were also included in the judge’s book due to an opening crash with Barcelona.

UEFA rules state that three yellow cards will trigger automatic one-match suspension during the league phase.

The rules state: “From the first match of the league phase, players and team officials will be stopped for the next competitive match after three attention. This did not become a red card.

With six fixtures still coming against Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Athletic Bilbao, PSV Eindhoven, Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille, Hau will be worried that his players will face a costly ban in key matches.

Considering the way two Newcastle players like to play, it is extremely difficult to avoid bookings in six street matches. It is fair to assume that it will eventually be stopped. Given the equipment, it will be interesting to see if they can manage their equipment carefully so that they don’t miss out on any important matches.
