Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski could make a surprise move to Manchester United.

However, Dean Jones has now revealed on TEAMtalk that the possibility of a transfer is extremely low. Manchester United need more quality and depth in their attacking line, and signing Lewandowski would be a surprise move. The player is in the twilight stage of his career and his condition is not improving. They need to invest in young players with more potential.

“There was a link between Man United and Robert Lewandowski, but this seems unlikely,” Jones said. “Even if he is a free transfer, it doesn’t fit their philosophy at all.

“I’ve even seen suggestions that he could act like a mentor to Sesco, but I think that’s extreme and probably unnecessary.

“I don’t know how much money people think Lewandowski earns at the moment, but he’s basically Barcelona’s highest-paid player.

“Manchester United have strict policies about how much they pay players, especially older players.

“Yes, there needs to be balance and there needs to be some experience. But even if Lewandowski’s salary was halved, he would still earn more than the majority of the team.”

“I can’t imagine them treating him as a contract unless he takes a very large pay cut.”

Manchester United need another striker who can compete with Benjamin Šeško and share the scoring burden with the Slovenian international. They should consider bringing in clinical finishers in the coming months. Manchester United spent a lot of money to strengthen their attacking team this summer.

We need to keep improving our squad if we want to compete with clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. It will be interesting to see if they can sign the right player in the coming months.

Lewandowski, on the other hand, has proven himself at multiple clubs throughout his career and is undoubtedly one of the best strikers of his generation. However, he is 37 years old and it would be a disappointment if Manchester United decided to make a move for him. They need to consider long-term options. They have exciting projects and are building for the future. It doesn’t make sense to invest in a player who will soon surpass his best.

Moreover, the Poland international is likely to be paid an exorbitant salary, and spending such a sum on a 37-year-old could be a mistake. Manchester United have been investing in older players in recent seasons, but it hasn’t worked out for them. It would be ideal to invest in future talent with a high ceiling.
