Ange Postecoglou was recently released by Nottingham Forest and has already been linked with a move to Celtic.

The Scottish side are reportedly looking for a quality player to replace Brendan Rodgers and are keen to bring the Australian back to the club. According to Football Insider, Celtic are expected to make contact with him in the near future.

The Australian player was sacked after just 39 days at the English club.

Ange Postecoglou did well for Celtic

Postecoglou did a phenomenal job during his previous spell at Celtic. He helped the team win multiple league titles and the national treble. It would be logical to think he would be attracted to the idea of returning to his former club. He has had great success in Scotland and is looking to lead Celtic back to the top of Scottish football.

Rodgers handed in his resignation earlier this week and Celtic will need to replace him properly. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and need to immediately bring in a manager who can help them win trophies.

The Australian manager knows the club well and will be able to get the best out of his players. He has managed them in the past and will be able to get used to them quickly.

Postecoglou will be desperate to prove his worth at the highest level after his stint at Nottingham Forest failed. He was shown the door after leading Tottenham to a bottom-of-the-Premier League finish at the end of last season. However, last season they won the UEFA Europa League.

It will be interesting to see if he can lead Celtic to a trophy this season. The Scottish side currently sit second in the league table, six points behind league leaders Hearts. They will expect to recover in the coming weeks.
