  • West Ham plot move to sign Timber
    • With the arrival of Potts, West Ham’s failures appear to be over.

West Ham United are currently planning to sign Quinten Timber in 2026, with the Dutchman set to become available as a free agent next summer, according to reports.

Those at the London Stadium must have breathed a sigh of relief last week when Nuno Espirito Santo’s side defeated Newcastle United. The Hammers have been on a one-way path to the Championship all season, but a win against the Magpies should finally end Nuno’s tenure.

This Saturday’s game against Burnley was West Ham’s most important game of the season so far. A win would put them level on points with the Clarets and potentially move them just outside the relegation zone on goal difference. In less than two weeks, the Hammers’ season could be handed a major lifeline.

Ahead of six relegation points, Nuno provided early team news and an update on both Niklas Furkuruk and Konstantinos Mavrapanos, who could return sooner rather than later.

“Both are improving and starting to work at different stages. Dinos is still training individually, while Niklas is progressing with the group, but not all parts of the training sessions, so we have to manage their individual programs, their treatment (and) their participation in the group.”

“The international break starts now (after Burnley) and I’m sure everything will be fine after that.”

The West Ham manager also took time to praise young midfielder Freddie Potts, who has been one of the club’s few bright spots this season: “He played really, really well. He had a great game.

“His actions were precise and kept the team balanced in the center of the park. He has played a lot of games on loan and is a good option for us. We are here to help him develop.”

The academy graduate looks set to be the future of West Ham’s midfield, with Dutch talent Timber potentially joining in 2026.

West Ham plot move to sign Timber

West Ham are currently planning to sign Quinten Timber, the twin brother of Arsenal’s Julian Timber, in 2026, according to reports in Spain. The defender’s contract is due to expire at Feyenoord in the summer, giving the Hammers and other players in the Premier League the chance to secure a bargain deal.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Feyenoord could accept a deal worth just 20 million euros (approximately 1.7 billion yen) if they want to sign the Dutchman before the summer, which would represent an undeniable bargain price.

Described by scout Jacek Krig as a “great signing” in 2023, Feyenoord could lose Timber for free come summer. West Ham, on the other hand, could sign a player who can play defensive midfield, attacking midfield or centre-back.

With the arrival of Potts, West Ham’s failures appear to be over.
