Arsenal believe £71m Bundesliga star could match Noni Madueke after contact

Arsenal are keen to step up their bid for the Premier League title and could make a move for one of Europe’s best wingers after making contact with his agent.

The Gunners have made an excellent start to the season and appear to be on track for further success under manager Mikel Arteta, but they will be judged on whether they can achieve their first top-flight crown since 2004.

Certainly having to stew for two weeks after a frustrating draw with Sunderland, in which Brian Brobbey equalized late on, is a tough pill to swallow. But success is determined by the ability to bounce back, and Arsenal look like they have a new personality compared to previous years.

Arteta will likely wait for players to return from injury to help with his hectic fixture schedule, with the Spaniard suggesting Gabriel Jesus has a role to play in helping the Gunners move closer to the title.

Speaking before his team’s draw against North East, he said: “He’s a player who’s very unpredictable, full of energy and very competitive. He’s come from a difficult situation over the last few seasons with a variety of bad injuries, so the level of hunger and motivation he’ll bring to the team will be amazing.”

“So I’m excited to get him. I think he adds something to the team that we don’t have and you can immediately see him impact the team on the field.”

Still, it may take some time for the Brazilian to become fully fit, so it would not be surprising to hear that Arsenal are keen to strengthen their front line after the start of games in January. talkSPORT revealed this week that the north Londoner is keen to sign the young forward.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have begun contact with super agent Jorge Mendes regarding Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, with the aim of increasing competition on the right flank with Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke currently competing for first-team spots.

The Bundesliga giants will insist on making back the £62m figure in January. Meanwhile, the Germany international has a release clause of £71 million and has also attracted interest from Manchester United. Furthermore, and perhaps more interestingly, Arteta personally sees him as an ideal upgrade to Brentford loanee Reiss Nelson, and Arsenal are confident Adeyemi will be a match for summer signing Noni Madueke.

Andrea Berta believes a deal could be reached, buoyed by reports that Adeyemi is keen to move to London rather than Manchester.

Adeyemi, known for his explosive speed, has three goals and three assists in 14 games this season, but is at risk of choosing not to sign a contract extension with Dortmund as his current contract expires in 2027.

Arsenal are in a race to sign one of the Premier League’s best midfielders

London is his preferred destination and could be a key boost for Arteta, and it remains to be seen whether he will ultimately put pen to paper at the Emirates Stadium.
