In the 2025 NBA Cup, eight teams will compete in the finals, and so far, the Toronto Raptors have secured their spot. The Raptors advanced with a decisive 140-110 win over the Washington Wizards, improving their group stage record to a perfect 3-0 and boasting an impressive +53 point differential in the Eastern Conference. They clinched the top spot in Group A by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers, who hold a 2-1 record, with all their victories being by double digits.

Key contributors for Toronto included Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Sandro Mamukelashvili, each scoring between 23 and 24 points in the game against the Wizards, who currently have the league’s worst record at 1-14. Immanuel Quickley also contributed 17 points and seven assists. The Raptors overwhelmingly outperformed the Wizards in nearly every aspect of the game, marking Toronto’s sixth win after a slow 1-4 start and their 10th victory in the past 11 games.

In the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks eked out a 118-115 win against the New Orleans Pelicans, highlighted by Cooper Flagg’s career-best 29 points, along with seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Despite the Mavericks currently holding a 1-2 record and facing an uphill battle in the group stage, the team’s focus remains on developing young talent like Flagg, making their win a positive step forward.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves experienced a tough loss after leading the Phoenix Suns by eight points with 50 seconds remaining. Critical mistakes in the game’s final possessions, including missed free throws by Anthony Edwards, who scored 41 points, led to their defeat. This loss dropped the Timberwolves from first to third place in Group A of the West Division, behind the Suns and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
