Gotham FC Celebrates NWSL Championship in New York

New York – While most New Yorkers hustled to work, Gotham FC players and staff celebrated their recent NWSL championship victory by riding open-top buses from City Hall, less than two days after they clinched the title. Despite getting a mere three hours of sleep, the team’s spirit was high, complete with their trophy and medals, and perhaps some sunglasses to mask any signs of exhaustion.

Gotham, entering the playoffs as the lowest-seeded team, triumphed over formidable opponents, including the Kansas City Current, the reigning champs Orlando Pride, and favorite Washington Spirit. Howell’s week was especially noteworthy, sandwiched between her first NWSL title and a call-up to the U.S. Women’s National Team.
