Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Nico Paz’s future amid links with big clubs such as Chelsea and former club Real Madrid.
The talented 21-year-old has really impressed in Serie A and recent reports suggest that Chelsea are interested.
It was previously reported that Chelsea would push to beat Real Madrid to the pass, but it seems they have already clearly lost the battle.
According to Romano, who posted from the official X account, the Argentine playmaker has already said yes to a return to Real Madrid in the summer of 2026.
Nico Paz says he’s in favor of Real Madrid’s return to the club
Watch below as an Italian journalist explains Real Madrid’s plans to re-sign Paz.
“As it became clear a few months ago, Real Madrid plans to recall Nico Paz as the first contracted player for 2026,” Romano posted.
“We understand that the buy-back clause will not be effective in January and Como want to keep him until the summer. The plan is to realize the deal in June 2026. Nico has already said yes.”
Pass would be a great signing for Los Blancos, but it would be a blow for Chelsea to miss out on this highly promising young talent who would have been perfect for this long-term project at Stamford Bridge.
Who else are Chelsea looking to sign?
Chelsea are likely to be looking to sign a big midfielder in the coming months, with Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios also on that list.
CFC also like Nottingham Forest’s Elliott Anderson, but these will be midfielders with a slightly different style of attack-oriented passing.
It will be interesting to see if the west London giants can find a replacement for Pas in the coming months, as any chance of a match against Real Madrid looks set to be wasted.
