In a 1-1 stalemate against Blackburn at SToK Cae Ras, Wrexham secured a valuable point thanks to a last-minute equalizer.

The visitors initially seemed poised for victory with an early strike from Andri Gudjohnsen, but Max Cloewers scored during the fifth minute of stoppage time in the second half, keeping Wrexham unbeaten in the Championship since October 18.

The match kicked off with a goal in the 13th minute when Ryan Alebios surged down the right side, and Gudjohnsen headed the ball past Wrexham’s goalkeeper, Arthur Okonkwo, into the far corner.

Just five minutes later, Alebios attempted another goal in the box, but Yuki Ohashi’s acrobatic volley went off target.

Wrexham secured a crucial point against Blackburn.

Wrexham’s first scoring opportunity arrived in the 25th minute when Ryan Longman’s pass reached captain James McLean at the back post, but the winger headed it into the side netting.

Blackburn looked threatening on the counter, but in the 28th minute, Cleworth’s timely tackle thwarted Ryoya Morishita, who had been set up by his compatriot Ohashi.

Two minutes later, Okonkwo made a crucial save, pushing the ball aside to free Adam Forshaw, but the veteran’s shot sailed over the goal.

Wrexham struggled to keep possession in the box, with their passing efforts deflected and ultimately unproductive.

At the beginning of the second half, Rovers squandered several corner opportunities within the Wrexham area.

Then, in the 56th minute, a prime opportunity presented itself for Blackburn as Ohashi expertly navigated through defenders and unleashed a strong shot that Okonkwo blocked, only for Gudjohnsen to tap in the rebound.

Rovers had another near miss in the 70th minute when substitute Mahtar Guye delivered a threatening pass, but Cleworth’s clearance ricocheted off the post for a corner.

In the 79th minute, Callum Doyle’s cross found George Dobson, but his header went off target.

Wrexham pressed for an equalizer, and Kieffer Moore’s close-range effort was brilliantly saved by Ainsley Pears, with Cleworth deflecting the rebound over the bar.

In the 85th minute, Moore faced off against Nathan Broadhead, but his shot barely missed the target.

Yet, the home crowd erupted in the closing moments when Broadhead executed a quick free kick, finding Cleworth, who scored to level the match.

Fan Take: This draw is significant for Wrexham as it keeps their unbeaten streak alive, showcasing their resilience in a competitive Championship. For soccer fans, it highlights the intense drama and unpredictability of the league, reminding us that every match can turn at any moment.
