It was not Lionel Messi who scored for Inter Miami in their inaugural conference final. Instead, Tadeo Allende, a 26-year-old Argentine on loan from Celta de Vigo, netted a hat-trick in the team’s 5-1 victory over New York City FC, propelling Inter Miami to their first-ever MLS Cup final.

Allende’s three goals outshone his previous playoff performances and earned him the Player of the Match title. During the regular season, he participated in 31 games, scoring 11 goals. In the playoffs, he excelled with eight goals, including two multi-goal games that helped secure Miami’s path to the finals.

He contributed significantly in the early stages of the match, scoring the first two goals that established a comfortable lead over NYCFC, before sealing the victory with a decisive goal. Allende’s impactful journey in the playoffs began with two goals against Nashville in the first round, followed by another duo in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Meanwhile, Messi is poised to contend for another MVP award in a remarkable consecutive season, having assisted Allende with three goals during the playoffs, while Jordi Alba contributed two assists as well. As the Eastern Conference champions, Inter Miami will face either San Diego FC or Vancouver Whitecaps next Saturday.

This news is significant for soccer fans as it highlights the rise of new talents like Allende in a league increasingly dominated by stars. With Messi’s leadership and the emergence of players like Allende, the MLS is becoming an exciting platform for developing future soccer talents.
