Dana White is reviving a classic UFC tradition this week as the organization enters what is arguably its most significant year ever.

Following next weekend’s UFC Vegas event, the promotion will pause for over a month to gear up for its transition from ESPN to the new $7.7 billion deal with Paramount+. When UFC returns, it will do so with a bang, featuring back-to-back numbered events: UFC 324 and UFC 325.

This Friday, fighters from these two upcoming events and other special guests will convene in Las Vegas for a seasonal press conference hosted by White. This marks the first time since 2023 that the UFC is using this traditional format, which has historically produced memorable moments.

UFC 323 will kick off this weekend in Las Vegas with a doubleheader of world title fights at T-Mobile Arena. This event will be ESPN’s final pay-per-view broadcast and could potentially be the UFC’s last pay-per-view event as the sport moves toward a new broadcast partnership.

Oscar Willis from The Mac Life reports that the UFC will launch its new era with a press conference on Friday featuring key fighters from two major January events. The lineup includes three world title fights alongside notable undercard competitors.

UFC 324 will be headlined by an interim lightweight title bout between Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje, with the co-main event showcasing Kayla Harrison versus Amanda Nunes. Meanwhile, UFC 325’s highlight will be the much-anticipated rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopez.

Fans will also see undercard stars like Sean O’Malley, who is set to face Song Yadong at UFC 324. These events often spark rivalries that extend beyond the octagon, adding layers of excitement as fighters prepare to clash.

Fan Take: The return of the seasonal press conference signals a renewed commitment to building anticipation and storytelling around big fights, which is vital for fan engagement. As the UFC transitions to Paramount+, these events set the stage for a new chapter that could elevate the sport’s visibility and global reach.
